One look at Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and you can see why. It’s locked at 30fps, but the world is also completely empty. The NPCs and cars in the game at launch were fairly dull and predictable, disappearing or resetting as soon as you turned away and looked back, but the PS4 version seems to have removed all but the most essential ones entirely. It’s a ghost town, and regardless of my own thoughts on Cyberpunk 2077’s quality or themes, it’s clear that this is a shadow of the game it once was. Not even a shadow of its looming potential - the game seems to work on a basic ‘does not crash’ level, but aside from that it’s demonstrably worse than it was at launch. I’d love to hear an explanation for why it was finally deemed okay to sell now, when the game is so obviously not ready that it’s being sold with a warning that it’s not actually going to work on the console it is currently being sold for. The conspiracy theory that Sony is pissed CDPR left it carrying the can for refunds doesn’t ring true for me - if that was the case, I doubt it would be back on the store
Since there are different ways each interrogation can play out there are also multiple endings to find. I ended up getting quite a bleak end to my story. I'm definitely going to go back and try to unlock the other endings, but I wish there was an option to replay each interrogation sequence. There's no way to redo them, so if you screw up and ask a dumb question, then you get what you get. I can understand why the developer wouldn't put this option in as simply going back and replaying a section to get a better outcome does cheapen the experience. But upon beating the game, there was no choice to return to my save file. In fact, the save file was gone and all I could do was begin a new game. It doesn't take long to play through Silicon Dreams - it took me about 5 hours to get through the game - but losing all that progress and having to start all over was kind of a bum
The Outer Worlds is a quirky game made by Obsidian with a lot of comedy. Under the jokes and sharp dialogue, though, is a sad world on the brink of falling apart. As the "hero" of the story, you must choose how you want to deal with the dark problems plaguing the galaxy you now call home.
This is essentially the best Blade Runner game that we've gotten in years. Trying to figure out how to get the answers and information I needed forced me to think about these androids' personalities and the best ways to manipulate them. Some needed to trust me before confiding in me while others required more aggressive tactics to get the intel I wanted. As the game progresses, and your job goes beyond simple android QA towards uncovering the plot behind an android rebellion, the story gets more and more intriguing. Along with that, the interrogations become more stressful as it's very possible to miss out on valuable evidence if you choose your questions poo
This is where that outrage comes back into play. I don’t want it to be expressed with death threats to developers , or in the whiny caricature of gamers we see snapping video game discs while frothing at the mouth to stick it to the man. There has also been a huge anti-journalist culture that the Cyberpunk fanbase has leaned into - for obvious reasons, I think we should avoid that too. I don’t want to encourage people to get more angry about this game that in truth has never come close to delivering on its potential even months later, but we should not stand for Sony selling us a game on PS4 while telling us not to play it on a PS4. Fable 3 follows much of the same logic as the first two games. You are a hero in a fantasy world that is seeking to take your seat back on the royal throne . You must meet those who are loyal to you and fight back; the only problem is when you arrive back on the throne, you learn the world is being taken over by the Crawler.
